The Millionaire Matchmaker "Shy Extrovert & The Rescuer" Recap (1/16/14)

January 17, 2014

Patti meets up with one of her former clients, Mitch. He is now happily married to Bambi. Patti set the two of them up on a master date and they have been inseparable ever since. Since Patti helped them find love, they would like her to do the same for their friend, Fiona Forbes.

Fiona Forbes is a Canadian talk show host. Her net worth is $1 million. She is looking to meet a guy that is tall, smart, and funny with a big personality (Daniel Craig type). Since Fiona is very shy by nature, she normally does not get asked out a lot. She needs Patti to “work her magic” on her so she can become more comfortable dating.

Patti nicknames Fiona the “shy extrovert” (since she is shy in her personal life and outgoing in her professional life). Patti wants to teach Fiona how to become feminine and comfortable in her own skin so she gets rid of the shyness and allow men to approach her.

Jack Roddy, 57, is a Firechaser from Cleveland. His net worth is $1.5 million. He wants a career woman with a nice body that is beautiful on the inside and the outside. He would also prefer that she is between the ages of 25-35. Patti tells him that most 20 year olds are only looking for his money and are not interested in settling down. Jack does not want a money based relationship, but Patti says that he is creating a money-based dynamic since he leads each relationship with money. Jack goes on to tell Patti about his former fiancée that was in her 40’s, but was trouble. Patti thinks he is attracted to trouble and nicknames him “the rescuer.”

Patti believes that if Jack does not rescue or lead with his money, but rather uses his charm, personality, and chivalry, he might have a chance. But she admits it is “going to be hard to teach the old dog new tricks.”

This week’s Recruiting Session is a marriage mirror. The millionaires are behind a two way mirror observing the potential daters as Patti questions them. Patti then consults the millionaires to find out which one they chose for a master date.

For Fiona’s recruiting session, Mitch and Bambi are on hand to help Patti sort through Fiona's potential daters. Fiona selects James for her master date. He has dark hair and a British accent just like her celebrity crush, Daniel Craig.

Fiona and James meet at a vineyard for their master date. While walking through the vineyard, Fiona trips and James holds her hand. The two discuss her career and the date seems to be progressing nicely. During dinner, they continue their conversation and the date seems to end well.

For Jack’s recruiting session, Patti throws Marissa, her 29-year-old assistant, into the pool of potential daters. Patti wants to see if Jack will select Marisa, even though, she is not age appropriate. Sure enough, Jack selects Marissa for his master date. Patti tells him that Marissa is her assistant and that he cannot choose her for his date.

Jack is adamant that if he could pick Marissa for his date, he would. Patti is livid. She yells at him that he is clearly not ready for a woman over 40. Jack relents and picks Annette, 41, instead.

Jack takes Annette on a yacht for their master date. The date starts off well, but Jack talks a lot. He talks about everything from his failed marriage to his sobriety. Annette begins to feel uncomfortable. During dinner, Jack continues to dominate the conversation. He even tells Annette about the dead cats he sees while on the job. (apparently he sees a lot of cats die in the fires he responds to) The date takes a turn for the worse when Annette turns Jack down for a second date. Although, Annette is very polite when she turns him down, Jack feels slighted. He tells Annette that Patti forced him to pick her and that he really wanted to pick someone else. Annette is upset and feels disrespected.

When Patti calls James about Fiona, he says he thinks Fiona is friendly and pretty, but he felt that they had more of a friendship vibe.

Fiona feels that she and James lacked chemistry. She thanks Patti for helping her overcome her shyness.

When Patti calls Annette for an update on her date with Jack, Annette tells her that Jack was really mean. Patti ensures Annette that she will fix her up with someone else.

Jack tells Patti that Annette was boring and that she only talked about her cat. After unleashing a flurry of expletives, Patti kicks Jack out of the club.

Update: Fiona has kept in touch with James, they are becoming fast friends. When she meets her dream guy, she will have the confidence to approach him.

Update: Jack Roddy has returned to Cleveland, alone. He has resumed looking for “a girl like Marissa.”
