Kanye West is an official suspect in a battery investigation that occurred today in Beverly Hills.
According to TMZ, West allegedly punched an 18-year-old man, who hurled racial slurs at him and berated his fiancée Kim Kardashian. The site reports that Kim was walking into a doctor's office when she was surrounded by paparazzi. As the 18-year-old man tried to help Kim enter the building, he began screaming, "F**k these fa**ot-a** n*****s" at the paparazzi.
In response, Kardashian told the man it was inappropriate to use the racial slur. The man then screamed "F**k you b****. Just trying to help you. Shut up n****r lover, stupid slut." Kim called Kanye and when the man realized who she called, he allegedly yelled even more racial slurs.
When Kanye arrived, he and Kim went into the building and confronted the 18-year-old. Witnesses say Kanye punched the man in the face.
It is reported that the matter will be referred to the L.A. County D.A. Office for possible prosecution. The 18-year-old has said he wants to press charges.
Update: Beverly Hills Police have released a statement addressing the incident saying, "The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses.""Mr. West had left the location prior to officers' arrival. As of this writing BHPD detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation. No further information at this time."
Despite this, Kim has met with her attorney to file a police report against the 18-year-old. She wants him prosecuted for making criminal threats against her. Eyewitnesses say that the man screamed, "I will kill you, slut" as Kim entered the building.
