The Millionaire Matchmaker “The Late Bloomer and The Gay Hugh Hefner” Recap (1/2/14)

This episode of Millionaire Matchmaker begins with Patti’s assistants trying on underwear courtesy of Andrew Christian, an underwear designer in West Hollywood. He is one of Patti’s clients this week.

Andrew Christian, 35, is the self proclaimed “Gay Hugh Hefner” with a net worth of $4.2 million. He needs Patti’s help because he continues to date his underwear models and those relationships only last at most a month. In the back of his mind, he is always thinking that they have an ulterior motive. In his words, “after the sex is done there is no substance there.” He is getting older and believes now is the time for him to settle down. Andrew wants a man that is cultured, smart, happy, and has great legs.

After meeting him, Patti believes that he really does want to settle down. She thinks his lifestyle may be scaring men off. She is hopeful that she can find him a great man, someone that he has not previously dated or met in West Hollywood. Patti informs Andrew of her “club rules” and he agrees to follow them. He is excited and believes that Patti knows what he is looking for.

 

Jersey's In The House. Kathy and Rich Walkie have traveled all the way from New Jersey with Kathy’s younger sister, Rosie. Rosie needs Patti’s help to get back into the dating scene.

Rosie Pierri, 46, is a project manager. She is best known for her role on Real Housewives of NJ as Kathy's younger sister. Rosie is a late bloomer. Since she did not come out until she was in her mid-thirties, she is a little uncomfortable in the dating world. She is looking for someone that rolls with the punches. A feisty woman that is established and knows what she wants out of life. Her celebrity crush is Ashley Judd.

 

Patti’s mission is to find a woman that makes Rosie comfortable enough to put herself out there.

 

Recruiting session: Patti is looking for age appropriate women that will help Rosie ease back into the dating world. Rich and Kathy are also there to help.

They find great potentials, but Patti is not impressed with her assistant, Justin. She is not happy with his recruiting skills. Luckily, the session goes much better for Andrew. There are a plethora of men for Patti to select for the Mixer.

This week’s Mixer is a Dinner Party. Each millionaire is surrounded by only 4 potential dates. They can only select one for their master date.

For his master date, Andrew selects Daniel. He takes Daniel to San Diego where they have dinner The Prado Restaurant. He is hoping that the date will turn romantic. During dinner, they have great conversation and Andrew thinks Daniel is hilarious. They are both smiling from ear to ear. After dinner, they head to an event at Andrew’s suggestion.  The event turns out to be one an underwear fashion show. Daniel volunteers to take part in show and he has a great time. They end the date with a kiss.

Patti calls Daniel to find out how the date went and he admits he and Andrew are going out the following weekend. Andrew meets Patti at her office. He tells her he really likes Daniel.

 

For her master date, Rosie selects Guinevere. Rosie meets Guin at a marina to go kayaking. However, Guin shows up in a dress and Rosie immediately thinks she may be a pre-madonna. While kayaking, they talk and Rosie is impressed. She thinks Guin is feisty and she likes that. During dinner they get to know each other more. Guin thinks it is refreshing to meet someone that wants to get to know her the “old fashioned way.” They end the date on a great note.

Patti calls Guin to find out how the date went. She tells Patti she had a good time, but she does not think it’s a love connection. Rosie feels the same way.

Update: After her experience with Guinevere, Rosie has more confidence. She has started dating a girl back on the East Coast.

Update: Andrew Christian has left his gay Hugh Hefner image behind. He and Daniel are very happy together.
