Mary Mary "Family Feud" Recap (2/27/14)

 

Your favorite gospel duo is back. Mary Mary has reunited after a much needed 3 month hiatus. During the break, Erica started working on her solo career while Tina has been dealing with some personal issues at home. 

To get back in the swing of things, Erica and Tina meet with Mitchell. The meeting starts off ok with Mitch asking both Erica and Tina what they have been up to during their break. Erica responds she has been writing music for her solo album and Tina says she has been focusing on her life. During her confessional, Tina reveals that her husband, Teddy, was unfaithful, while she was on the road. 

Exciting news: Mitchell announces Mary Mary is shooting a cover for Ebony magazine. They are also headlining the Las Vegas Soul Festival. Bad News: Mary Mary's trip to Africa is a no go. According to Mitchell, the buyer never sent his deposit. Tina becomes visibly upset by the news. She feels Mitchell he has dropped the ball on some Mary Mary events.

 

This sets Mitchell off. He starts yelling at Tina and she starts yelling back. She suggests that if he is unhappy, he can leave. This provokes Erica to stand up and interject. She suggests that they all take a break and reconvene at the Ebony photo shoot.

 

 

Back in the studio, Erica is practicing her solo music with her husband, Warren. The two talk about whether Erica should hire someone to manage her solo career. Warren doesn’t think she needs a manager. He suggests Erica let Mitchell know, he will not be managing her solo career.

 

Erica goes to meet with Mitchell to inform him of her decision, but she can't bring herself to tell him just yet.

 

Ebony Magazine, here comes Mary Mary. Tina and Erica are beyond thrilled to be featured on the cover. However, things are still tense between the Mary's and Mitchell. When Erica asks Mitchell to call Goo Goo because she forgot her support garments, Mitchell wishes he would have just stayed at home. Of course, once Goo Goo arrives with the garments, she and Mitchell get into an argument about her not styling Mary Mary for their Las Vegas concert. Goo Goo has booked other clients for the same day.

 

After the photoshoot, the Marys do separate interviews for the magazine. During her interview, Tina decides to talk about her marital issues and her husband's infidelity.

 

With the Las Vegas Soul Festival just three days away, Erica and Tina decide to rehearse. Before getting started, Erica checks their itinerary and notices Mary Mary has a red carpet event scheduled. Neither Erica nor Tina were informed of it. They feel like management is constantly dropping the ball and letting details slip through the cracks. They decide to table the management discussion and rehearse. It’s been three months since they have been on stage together and Tina is a little rusty.

 

Vegas bound! Tina and Erica arrive a day early. First thing on the agenda, race car driving with their husbands. Once Mitchell arrives, the Marys inform him that they have decided not to attend the red carpet event. Mitchell is upset, but he decides to accompany Tina, Teddy, Warren, and Erica to dinner instead. While at dinner, Mitchell takes the opportunity to ask Erica about her solo career. This doesn’t sit well with Tina, who suggests they enjoy dinner and not talk about business.

 

The day of the Vegas Soul Festival has arrived. Mary Mary take the stage and give an outstanding performance, despite the fact, they had to get dressed without the help of their stylist and sister, Goo Goo.


After the performance, Mitchell approaches Erica and Warren to find out whether he is going to manage Erica’s solo career. Erica tells him she does not want him as her manager. Mitchell tells offense to this and leaves.
