Jim Lange, Original Host Of "The Dating Game," Dies

Jim Lange, the original host of "The Dating Game" has died, ABC News reports. He was 81.

Lange hosted "The Dating Game" from 1965 to 1980. Typically, the show would feature a bachelorette, who would question three bachelors that were hidden from her view; at the end of the questioning period, she would choose one bachelor to go out on a date with.

Bachelorettes included Suzanne Somers, Lindsay Wagner, and Farrah Fawcett, who appeared on the show before they were famous.

Lange is survived by his wife Nancy, a sister, 5 children, 2 stepchildren, and 4 grandchildren.
