Todd Harrell, the bassist for the group, 3 Doors Down, was arrested for DUI in Mississippi on February 18, 2014.

Police Chief, Wayne Payne tells the Associated Press, "Harrell was found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle" by responding officers.

He was charged with Second-offense DUI involving a substance other than alcohol. This is Harrell's second DUI in Mississippi since 2012.

According to Mississippi law, when an individual is convicted of his/her 2nd DUI within 5 years, he/she faces the following penalties and offenses:
  • a fine of not less than $600 or more than $1,500
  • Imprisonment of no less than 5 days and no more than 1 year
  • a sentence of community service for up to 1 year
  • license suspension for 2 years
  • alcohol/drug treatment

In addition, the court cannot reduce minimum sentences and prosecutors cannot offer sentence reductions or suspensions as part of a plea deal.

No date has been set for Harrell's next court hearing. Todd Harrell is also facing charges for vehicular homicide in Tennessee.
