The Millionaire Matchmaker "Softy Swayze & The Boy In The Bubble" Recap (12/5/13)

December 5, 2013

This season of Millionaire Matchmaker kicks off with Patti and a new team of assistants. Gone are Patti's former assistants, Rachel and Dustin, who are now pursuing their own interests. No worries though, Patti has no hard feelings.

This weeks millionaire's are Don Swayze, 55, actor and brother of the late Patrick Swayze, and Randy Lehrman, 40, owner of Real Genius Entertainment.

Patti meets with Don Swayze first. Don is looking for love and believes that a  partner would make him a better person. His last significant relationship was with his ex-wife because he spent the last couple of years taking care of his brother, Patrick Swayze, until he passed from pancreatic cancer.

He is into extreme sports and is fit. He wants a woman in her 40s, who is also fit. His celebrity crush is SNL's own Kristen Wiig. Patti calls him a softy with a good heart and promises to find him the woman of his dreams.

Patti's next stop is a cafe to meet Randy Lehrman. Randy is a DJ and owner of his own entertainment company. His net worth is over 1 million dollars. He wants to meet someone he can have fun with who also understands his crude humor. However, he refuses to date a woman over the age of 29. According to him, "women in their 30s are cougars and they are too uptight about his humor." Patti ever the matchmaker reminds Randy that he is not young and in fact is a cougar himself. She also calls him "Grizzly Adams" and takes jabs at his masculinity.

Patti also takes issue with the fact that the longest relationship he has ever had was only 9 months long. She thinks this is a problem and states, "a man that has not had a long term relationship is a boy not a man."

After making sure that Randy is serious and that he would agree to date age appropriate women, ie. women in their thirties and forties, Patti leaves to plan the mixer, which will have a masquerade theme. She promises Randy she will find him an Emma Stone.

The recruiting goes well and Patti selects several beautiful women for the masquerade mixer. Each woman is wearing a mask. Don and Randy are also wearing one.

Don does a great job getting to know the women, but Randy continues to lead conversations with his humor which upsets Patti.

For his one on one Randy selects Jessica & Jensi.
After speaking to both women Randy chooses Jessica as his date.

For his date with Jessica, Randy rents out the entire Racers Indoor Karting and the two have a great time racing around the track.

After racing, Randy takes Jessica to dinner at one of his favorite restaurant's in Santa Monica. But, the date does not go smoothly. Randy talks about himself alot and doesn't try to get to know Jessica. He doesn't ask her one question about herself and fails to compliment her on her dress. A cardinal first date sin! Randy seals his fate when he likens relationships to a 60 day warranty at Best Buy. Not surprisingly, when Randy asks Jessica for a second date she responds "Maybe."

For his one on one Don selects Anne & Christie.
After speaking to both women Don chooses Anne as his date.

For his date, Don commissions the Executive Chef of  Hostaria del Piccolo for cooking lessons. At the beginning of the date, Anne feels ignored by Don who seemed to be getting along better with Chef Germano.
But, when the two sit down for dinner, they have great conversation and agree to see each other again. The date ends with Don walking Anne to her car.

After the dates, Patti calls Anne to get an update. Anne tells Patti that the date started off shaky, but she is super excited to go out with Don again. When Don comes into Patti's office she tells him to schedule a second date with Anne ASAP.

Patti is about to call Jessica when she finds out she is in lobby waiting to speak with her about her date with Randy. Jessica tells Patti that the date was horrible and Randy did not compliment her or get to know her at all. Patti suggests Jessica tell Randy this face to face. Randy who is also in the office sits down with both Patti and Jessica.

Jessica tells Randy how she felt on the date and Randy uses the excuse that he has been dating online so this experience is new to him. Patti is not buying it and wants Randy to own up to his rude behavior. Patti also makes Randy apologize and ask Jessica out again.

Update: Randy called Jessica the next day to set up a second date, but she has not returned his call.

Update: Don is looking forward to calling Anne for a second date.

This season of Matchmaker will feature: Stefan Richter of Top Chef. Kathy Walkie's sister, Rosie Pierri of Real Housewives of NJ and Courtney Kerr, reality tv star of Courtney Loves Dallas.
