Adrian's son: Ty Facebook.com/Ashley 'Ann' Doohen |
NFL Minnesota Viking player, Adrian Peterson's son, Ty, who was listed in critical condition after suffering multiple head injuries from an assault, has died. Family members made the decision to take the child off life support after his condition failed to improve.
According to KELOLAND.com, police say 27-year-old Joseph Robert Patterson was home alone with the child when the assault occurred. Patterson is said to be the boyfriend of the child's mother. He has been charged with aggravated felony assault and aggravated battery on an infant. Bond is set at 750,000.
"I ask for privacy at this time, and that there are no questions now about this matter."
Update: James Patterson was indicted by a grand jury in South Dakota for murder in the second degree. In South Dakota, second degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence, if one is convicted. An additional count of first degree manslaughter and previous charges of aggravated felony assault and aggravated battery on an infant have also been filed.
What a sad situation. Prayers go out to Adrian Peterson and his family. No parent should have to experience this.
