Denise Richards is No Longer Guardian of Twins, Bob & Max

Brooke Mueller's brother: Scott Mueller

Denise Richards has been replaced as temporary guardian of ex-husband Charlie Sheen's twin boys, Bob & Max. The decision comes just a few days after Richards wrote a heartfelt letter to LA County DFCS informing them that she could no longer be Bob & Max's caregiver. Although, it was a difficult decision for Richards, she explained that the boys increasingly violent behavior towards her daughters, her pets, and herself was what ultimately led to her asking for them to be removed from her home.

Instead, Brooke Mueller's brother, Scott Mueller, will serve as temporary guardian of the twins. LA County DFCS signed off on the order in court today and Scott will take charge of the boys tonight. In an odd twist, Scott and the twins will move into Brooke's home since the judge felt it important the boys stay in the same school and Scott lives so far away. In essence, this arrangement gives Brooke full custody even though DFCS has yet to give her full custody rights. According to TMZ, "the Dept of Children Services feels that is important that the children be reintroduced to [Brooke] gradually following her drug problems"

I thought the courts were supposed to take into consideration the best interests of the child. What part of this decision makes sense? Brooke has only been out of rehab for one month.
