Chopped "Thanksgiving" Recap (11/12/13)

Once again, four chefs entered the Chopped Kitchen with the hope of becoming the next Chopped Champion and winning $10,000.
 
Chef Fiore Tedesco of TX; Chef Ruth Cimaroli of NYC; Chef Dustin Gauvain of TX; and Chef Nick Vazquez of NJ were challenged with making an Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert with mystery baskets full of Thanksgiving food items.

For the Appetizer Round, the chefs were tasked with making a meal out of Rutabaga, Turkey Sausage, Green Bean Casserole, and Honey Baked Ham.
Chef Fiore prepared a Rutabaga Puree. Chef Nick prepared Turkey Sausage & Ham Picadillo Hash with Veggies. Chef Dustin prepared Holiday Hash & Sausage & Ham. Chef Ruth prepared Thanksgiving Breakfast Hash. 

Chef Nick was Chopped. His choice to char his onions and lack of ham on his plates was what ultimately led the judges to chop him.

The Entree Round featured Whole Turkey, Gravy Giblet, Pumpkin Ice Cream, and Brussel Sprouts. Chef Ruth made Sauteed Turkey Breast & Homemade Turkey Stock. Chef Dustin made Brined Turkey Breast. Chef Fiore made Honey Glazed Spice Crusted Turkey Breast. 

Chef Justin was Chopped. His brussel sprouts were burned and the judges felt that they affected the rest of his dish.

In the Dessert Round, the chefs utilized Butternut Squash Soup, Fennel, Orange Cranberry Muffins, and Tofu Turkey.Chef Fiore served the judges Fried Apple Pie and Chef Ruth made Bread Pudding.

Chef Fiore was Chopped. The judges felt that in the Entree Round his plate was missing a starch component and in the Dessert Round his Apple Pie needed more filling.

Chef Ruth wins the title of Chopped Champion and $10,000.
