On Tuesday’s episode of “Chopped,” the following chefs,
Michael Bryant, Executive Chef of Eva Restaurant; Natasha Pogrebinsky, Chef
& Owner of Bear Restaurant; Lauren Van Der Pool, Vegan Personal Chef; and
Tre Goshal, Chef & Owner of Adara, return to the Chopped kitchen to Redeem themselves.
These returning chefs are once again competing for the title
of Chopped Champion. Like before, each chef must make three dishes, Appetizer, Entrée,
and Dessert, using the mystery basket ingredients and any additional
pantry/fridge items. The chef whose dish the judges like the least will be
Chopped…again.
For the Appetizer Round, the chefs are given 20 minutes to
create a meal using Lime Gelatin, Prosciutto, Celery, and Prawn Cocktail Chips.
Michael makes Prosciutto and Celery Potato Hash with Lime Gelatin
Sweet and Sour
Lauren makes Warm Prosciutto Salad with Lime Gelatin Maple Dressing
Natasha makes Celery, Prosciutto & Lime Gelatin Bisque
with a Crostini
Tre makes Asparagus and Prosciutto Rolls with Lime Gelatin Reduction
Chopped: Chef
Lauren. The judges felt that her dressing was overly sweet and the raw red
onions in her dish were aggressive.
In the Entrée Round, the mystery baskets featured Sour Candy Belts, Quinoa, Pickled Turnips, and Red Snapper.
Michael makes Red Snapper with Crispy Quinoa and Pickled Turnip
& Candy Salsa
Natasha makes Fried Snapper Ribs with Tartar Sauce and Pan Roasted
Snapper Filet
Tre makes Pan Seared Red Snapper with Madras Curry and Pickled Turnips
Chopped: Chef Trey. The overpowering taste of salt from the
turnips changed the taste of the dish for the judges.
The Dessert Round, challenged the chefs with Palm Seeds in Syrup, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Dulce De Leche, and Multigrain Cereal.
Michael makes Steamed Pudding with Dulce De Leche Caramel
Natasha makes Deep Fried Phyllo-Crusted Cheesecake
Chopped: Chef Natasha. The judges felt that her Dessert
course was a “flavor bomb.”
Chopped Champion: Chef Michael. He wins $10,000.
