Chopped "Gummies & Mummies" Recap (10/14/14)

Chopped is celebrating Halloween all month long!
 
Tuesday's episode of Chopped featured various Halloween candies and ingredients such as Gummy Rats, Canned Pumpkin, & Witches Brew.
 
The following chefs competed for the title of Chopped Champion & $10,000:
 
Stephanie Mishoe, Pastry Chef from SC
 
Mark Murray, Private Chef from CT
 
TK Kyle, Caterer & Owner of Tara's Singleton Catering, NY
 
Roro Morales, Caterer &Owner of Haute Couture, OR

 
The Appetizer Round challenged the chefs with Gummy Rats, Canned Pumpkin, Bitter Melon, & Mummy Dogs.
 
Stephanie made Warm Bitter Melon & Spinach Salad with Spiced Pumpkin Puree
 
Mark made Bitter Melon & Arugula Salad with Bacon Sautéed Mummy Dogs
 
TK made "Rat-atouille" Bitter Melon Sauté with Charbroiled Pigs in a Blanket
 
Roro made Crostinis with Mummy Dog Pate & Pickled Bitter Melon
 
 
Chopped: Chef Mark Murray. The judges thought his sauce was too sweet.
 
 
In the Entrée Round, the mystery basket included Graveyard Dirt Pudding, Beef Hearts, Gummy Body Parts, &Pig Ears.
 
TK made Grilled Beef Hearts with Radicchio Salad & Crispy Pig Ears
 
Roro made Sautéed Beef Hearts with Dirty Rice & Pickled Onion
 
Stephanie made Savory Graveyard Dirt Pudding & Sautéed Beef Hearts
 
 
Chopped: Chef Stephanie Mishoe. Her beef heart was overcooked & her pudding was too sweet.
 
 
For the Dessert Round, the chefs were required to use  Witches Brew, Blood Oranges, Blue Cheese, & Pretzel Spider Webs.
 
Roro made Blue Cheese Cakes & Witches Brew Sorbet
 
TK made Chocolate Covered Fingers with Blood, Guts, & Bones
 
 
Chopped: Chef TK Kyle. The judges thought the flavors in her dessert were muddled.
 
 
Chopped Champion: Chef Roro Morales. He received $10,000.
