Chopped "There Will Be Bloody Marys" Recap (6/3/14)

On Tuesday’s episode of Chopped, the following chefs competed for the title of Chopped Champion & $10,000:
 
Hayan Yi, Personal Chef in NYC
Jeffrey Forrest, Executive Chef of Parker & Quinn in NYC
Millie Fernandez, Private Chef & Entrepreneur of RockStarChez
Patrick Lacey, Chef De Cuisine of Tarry Market & Eataly in NYC

There will be Bloody Mary's! The chefs were challenged with mystery baskets filled with ingredients that are typically served with Bloody Mary's.
 
In the Appetizer Round, the chefs had 20 minutes to create a meal using Mille Crepe Cake, Snow Crab Claws, Kohlrabia, and Bloody Mary.
Patrick served Snow Crab Salad with Kohlrabi Ragout and Vinaigrette
Millie served Rockin’ Claws with Bloody Mille Cake Sauce
Hayan served Snow Crab Salad with Pickled Kohlrabi and Tomato Water
Jeffrey served Sweet & Spicy Snow Crab Bouillabaisse with Kohlrabi Slaw
 
Chopped: Chef Millie. She overcooked the crab.
 
For the Entrée Round, the chefs were tasked with Seafood Paella, Ground Chicken, Dry Sherry, and Bread & Butter Pickles.
Hayan served Sautéed Ground Chicken with Vegetables
Jeffrey served Chicken & Rice Stuffed Poblanos with Frittata Taco & Escabeche
Patrick served Risotto-Style Paella with Chicken Sausage
 
Chopped: Chef Patrick. He overcooked the chicken sausage.
 

The Dessert Round called for the chefs to use Cinnamon Whiskey, Phyllo Dough, Brazil Nuts, and Rose Hip Jam.
Jeffrey served Brown Butter & Apple Beggar’s Purse with Whipped Cream
Hayan served Mascarpone & Rose Hip Cream with Caramel and Buttermilk Ice Cream
 
Chopped: Chef Hayan. In the Entrée Round, she forgot a key ingredient and in the Dessert Round, she over churned her ice cream.
 
Chopped Champion: Chef Jeffrey Forrest. He wins $10k.
