On Tuesday's episode of "Chopped," four grandmothers compete for the title of Chopped champion.
Grandma Elda Bielanski, Grandma Mannee Soohoo, Grandma Nancy Judd, and Grandma Wenona Moorer must make three dishes, Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert, using the mystery basket ingredients and any additional pantry and fridge items.
Dishes will be judged on presentation, creativity, and taste. The grandma whose dish the judges like the least will be...Chopped.
For the Appetizer Round, the grandmothers must use Filet of Sole, Popovers, Ginger, and Bacon Grease.
Grandma Mannee makes Fish Cakes with Mixed Vegetables
Grandma Nancy makes Fish Tacos
Grandma Elda makes Popover & Ginger-Crusted Filet of Sole
Grandma Wenona makes Mock Crab Cakes with Ginger Mayo
Chopped: Grandma Nancy. She forgot to include a key ingredient in her dish, the popovers.
In the Entrée Round, the mystery basket included the following ingredients: Meatloaf Mix, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, and an Old Fashioned (cocktail made of whiskey, sugar, bitters, and lemon).
Grandma Elda makes Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms with Reduced Old Fashioned
Grandma Mannee makes Meatloaf Hamburgers with Green Beans
Grandma Wenona makes Meat Patties with Cinnamon & Sugar Sweet Potato Fries
Chopped: Grandma Mannee. Judges felt that her hamburger was dry and that it needed sauce.
The Dessert Round challenged the grandmothers with Oatmeal, Dried Currants, Yuzu Juice, and Vanilla Ice Cream.
Grandma Elda bakes Currant Cream Scones with Vanilla-Yuzu Glaze
Grandma Wenona bakes
Oatmeal Cookies with Peanut Butter Sauce
Chopped: Grandma Wenona. Judges felt that the texture of her oatmeal
cookie was off.
Chopped Champion: Grandma Elda. She wins $10,000.
