At stake...a $10,000 cash prize & the title of Chopped Champion.
The Appetizer Round challenged the chefs with Canned Apples, Ramen, Okra, & Biscuit Dough
Naved made Spicy Dashi Noodle Sandwich with Pickled Apples
Mindy made Asian Ramen Noodle Slaw with Crispy Okra & Honey Ball
Aaron made Porchetta & Ramen Noodle Sandwich with Fried Okra
Tia made Ramen Porchetta Salad with Apples & Fried Okra
Chopped: Chef Naved Dubois. His biscuit was not fully cooked and the seasonings did not transfer to the noodles.
The Entrée Round called for the chefs to make a meal from Rocky Mountain Oysters (bull testicles), Purple Artichokes, Pomegranates, & Cola.
Tia made Fried Mountain Oysters & Poached Artichokes
Mindy made Pan Fried Rocky Mountain "Oysters" with Cola Pomegranate Gravy
Aaron made Pan Seared Rocky Mountain Oysters Potatoes & Choke Chips
Chopped: Tia McDonald. She did not peel her oysters which made them tough to eat.
In the Dessert Round, the mystery baskets included Peanuts in a Shell, Cream of Coconut, Rambutan (tropical fruit), & Red Velvet Whoopie Pies.
Mindy made Whoopie Donut & Coconut Peanut Caramel with Rambutan Chutney
Aaron made Coconut Peanut Whoopie Fingers with Rambutan Bourbon Sauce
Chopped: Chef Aaron Dubois. In the Appetizer Round, his sandwich lacked flavor & his dessert ingredients were unidentifiable.
Chopped Champion: Mindy Merrel. She received $10,000.
